Commercial Cleaning Leads are Waiting for You!

  • Find your unique selling point. What do you offer that no other cleaning company offers? “We clean better than the rest of them” isn't really a compelling selling point. You're basically just saying you do your job well. Is there a specific service you offer? Do your employees have a special certification that other cleaners might not? Position yourself as the leading expert in your niche of the industry–the one people come to when they have a question about cleaning in your field. That way, when people are searching for the most knowledgeable and reliable person around to clean their office or business, your name is the one that will come up.

  • Get referrals and network with the customers you do have. Tell your customers that you're always looking for business and that you would appreciate it if they recommended you to some of their friends and neighbors. Better yet, offer them a discount on their next cleaning appointment if they bring in someone else who ends up booking an appointment. This is a simple yet effective way to give yourself free publicity. Connect with friends, family, and neighbors to put your business's name in their heads if someone mentions they need a good cleaner. And once you establish yourself as the best, most thorough, and most reliable cleaner on the block, everyone will want to book with you.

  • Make sure your web presence is up-to-date, relevant, and user-friendly. If you don't have a website, no matter how old-school you pride yourself on being, you're behind the times. A functional website that is easy to navigate with clear contact information on every page is essential for pulling in business. People take about five seconds to form an opinion of a website, so keep that in mind as you design yours. It's important that you link to other pages on your site as well as outbound links to increase your credibility with search engines. In addition to the classic “about us” and “contact us” pages, you'll want to create pages with valuable information that establish you as an authority in your industry (this goes back to our first point). Service area pages, blog posts about cleaning methods and business strategy (like this one), and case studies all give search engines more material to work with when putting your company at the top of the search pile.

  • Leverage SEO as much as you possibly can. More than half of website traffic comes from organic search results. Do your keyword research to find which keywords you should be used in relation to your business. But beware of keyword stuffing, which search engines will punish you for.

  • Establish and grow a social media presence. There's a new social platform every year it seems, and especially if you're a small business, you can't possibly keep up a robust presence on every single platform. So pick the ones that make the most sense for your niche and the audience you're trying to attract. Consider the typical age ranges of users on each platform, to start. More about that in another one of our blog posts. We offer both a Facebook Marketing Course webinar and a 5 Steps to Make LinkedIn Work for You webinar for members only. If you're not sure where to start when it comes to social media, either (or both) of these webinars would prove extremely useful as you learn how to increase leads from social media platforms.
