Many cleaning companies specialize in construction cleanup, and some offer it to their customers who are remodeling or moving into new office space or a new home.

Although it's a dirty, messy job, construction clean-up services can be a profitable niche or add-on for your cleaning business.

When bidding on a construction cleaning job, you may have to bid it two to three times the normal cleaning price. This is because it's much more labor intensive and more supplies are used to complete the job.

Here are some tips for getting the job done:

  1. Remove all large debris.
  2. Use a back pack vacuum to vacuum up dust from inside cabinets, drawers, window sills, and the floors.
  3. Wipe down all surfaces including countertops, cabinets (inside and out), and drawers.
  4. Clean restrooms and kitchen areas, removing stickers from fixtures and appliances.
  5. Wash all windows, removing stickers and construction debris. Wipe frames.
  6. Mop floors and vacuum carpet.
