Five Stars? Two Stars? Improving Your Online Ranking in Commercial Cleaning
It is crucial for a janitorial cleaning company to gather and display customer testimonials. Potential clients are more likely than ever to utilize online reviews to guide their decisions in the modern world. Reviews influence people's judgments, raise their likelihood of making an online purchase, and even help them find new goods and services. Reviews and the concept of earning referrals go hand in hand.
You can't expect consumers to submit reviews on their own unless your business is huge and extremely well-known. Some people might do this, but if you actively seek them out, you'll significantly boost the number of reviews (especially nice ones).
1. Text Message
The benefit of texting a customer to request a review for your commercial cleaning company is that it is quick, easy, and straightforward for them to do. Making it clear that you want to be able to use their remarks publicly should be a component of your request; gaining consent to utilize text message content that is private is crucial. These reviews can then be utilized on your website, shared on social media, or even used as pitch and presentation material.
2. Ask Via Direct Email
Although email is a little slower than text, the response might be more thoughtful. If they haven't responded, it is also a little simpler and less bothersome to follow up via email. Whether you choose to communicate by text or email will depend on how you and your customers feel most at ease.
3. Ask and Provide Links
There are numerous third-party websites with integrated review systems (Google Business is the largest). Consider enabling reviews if your cleaning company is set up on one or more of them, and make sure you are familiar with the links you will need to provide to clients. Instead of requesting an immediate response by text message or email, you may urge them to spend some time writing a public review on one of these review sites.
4. Customer Interviews
Although it requires more labor, this one can yield some true beauties. Inquire if some of your most devoted and enthusiastic clients would be willing to participate in a video (or audio, but video is preferable) call with you to discuss their experience with your janitorial company. With their consent, record the conversation.
You can extract several impactful statements as well as brief video or audio clips from this video or audio. You will want a member of your staff with expertise in converting uncut video into testimonial content. Once you've edited or removed the material you desire, you'll also need to share the results with the client a second time to confirm their consent to its use.
5. Ask for Permission to Write a Review on the Customer's Behalf
Many people would be pleased to speak out strongly in favor of your commercial cleaning company, but they might not have the necessary time, knowledge, or motivation to do so. This is especially true of CEOs who are extremely busy.
Write the review for them if you have a solid notion of what they liked about working with you, then send it to them for approval. Someone in your marketing or sales team might be most suited for this position because they are more likely to be familiar with the words and phrases that will appeal to your target audience.
Reviewing something and asking for minor changes here and there is far simpler than starting from scratch. Once the review has been accepted, it can nearly always be used elsewhere with the exception of third-party websites (publishing under a different name on a third-party website is not advised, even if they have granted you permission. These websites might flag you as spam.)
6. Incentivize Reviews
You may organize a drawing at random or some other type of incentive for leaving a review. In the short run, this can most definitely increase the number of reviews, or you could even implement a continuous system with recurring rewards.
The problem with incentives is that they may compromise the reliability of the review itself. Expect people to be able to discover that you're offering prizes for reviews without much difficulty in today's hypervigilant society. People who have a tendency to be untrusting of institutions can decide that this makes them untrustworthy of you.
Additionally, many of the third-party platforms will completely forbid incentives. Finally, in order to actually run a giveaway of any sort, most commercial entities need to create legally binding terms & conditions and conduct lawful fulfillment.
