Before cleaning windows, have the proper equipment. The best window cleaning solution is water and Dawn dishwashing detergent. Use a house broom to remove cobwebs and dry soil. On a utility belt put the applicator, squeegee, and a microfiber cloth and a cotton cloth for touching up frames. Scraping blades are also important, including a plastic scraper, a razor, and a utility blade. Always use blades that are sharp on wet windows. Have a step-ladder and #0000 steel wool for cleaning bug poop and other dried items.

There are three ways of cleaning windows demonstrated: side-to-side, top-to-bottom, and the Super Swirl where the squeegee does not leave the glass. In all methods, begin with a critical dry edge on the top and left sides. After using the squeegee, dry the frame and edges with a dry towel to finish the look of the window.
