VIDEO: Encapsulation Carpet Cleaning at BSCAI Convention 2008
This video was shot at the 2008 BSCAI Convention. If you've ever wondered what encapsulation carpet cleaning is or how effective it can be, watch this video. The person demonstrating the process is Rick Gelinas, inventor of Releasit, Encapsulation Chemistry. Video Recap: The Cimex machine's drive platform spins clockwise while the heads spin counter-clockwise so scrubbing is done in both directions at the same time. The cleaning rate is about 2000-3000 square feet per hour. The cleaning product used is called Releasit, a crystallized, encapsulated detergent. The primary application is commercial. This is for interim cleaning, but can reduce the need for hot water extraction greatly. After cleaning, the carpet is allowed to dry and then vacuumed. Synthetic pads are used instead of brushes because of the increased fiber surface contact. The pads last for about 7000-10000 square feet of cleaning.
