Steve Hanson, President of TheJanitorialStore.com and MyHouseCleaningBiz.com, has 25 years of experience as a building service contractor. His first company, Hanson Building Maintenance, Inc. was located in Boise, Idaho. The Hanson's sold the company in 2002 to move back to the Midwest to be closer to family.
In 2002 Steve started Brainerd Lakes Cleaning and Supply, a commercial cleaning business, and janitorial supply house. The company is located in Brainerd, Minnesota and Hanson sold it in 2009.
Steve and his wife Jean launched TheJanitorialStore.com in 2005. The site continues to grow, with members in all 50 states and over 20 countries around the world. MyHouseCleaningBiz.com was launched in 2009. This website is exclusively for residential cleaning company owners.

Jean Hanson is Vice-President and CFO of the company. Her background is in retail management and human resources management.
As well as running the cleaning companies with Steve, Jean owned a successful virtual assistant company for five years. She worked with speakers and coaches who owned online businesses. She managed the online marketing division of her clients' businesses, which is what inspired her interest in helping building service contractors through an online subscription website. Jean closed the virtual assistant business in 2006 in order to work on TheJanitorialStore.com full-time.
Steve and Jean had always wanted to give back to the industry that had served them so well. So in 2005 they launched TheJanitorialStore.com, which is an online community for building service contractors. With so many residential cleaning business owners joining the site, they decided it was time to start another community just for them, MyHouseCleaningBiz.com

Jo Simmons, Customer Service, Administrative

Jo Simmons has been Jean's virtual assistant since 2005, and is owner of Simmons Virtual Assistant. Jo has been involved with administrative tasks such as customer service, phone, computer and fax usage for over 20 years.
Jo has been instrumental in helping Jean and Steve grow the business. She manages customer service for TheJanitorialStore.com and MyHouseCleaningBiz.com. She also helps with many other aspects of the business. She transcribes all the tele-classes, discussion forums and other audio for the website. She helps with product updates, website updates, as well as other administrative tasks.

Paul Gilb, Accounting, Reports, Customer Service

Paul Gilb manages bookkeeping and administrative tasks for all of Steve and Jean's businesses. After spending 18 years as a full service sales representative, Paul decided to take a different path and went back to school to pursue his accounting degree.
Paul was instrumental in helping Jean out of the day-to-day accounting responsibilities. He now manages all employee timekeeping functions, payroll, invoicing, purchase orders, receipts, account reconciliation, and many other accounting functions.
Paul also provides customer service support for Steve's office and helps Steve with other administrative functions, brainstorming, research and implementing ideas.

Terrie Soberg, Webmaster Assistant, Editing

Terrie Soberg and her husband Dave joined TheJanitorialStore.com as members in June 2008. She and Dave live very close to Jean and Steve, so Steve called to see if they would like to meet in person. After discovering Terrie's many talents, Jean decided to hire Terrie to help her with maintaining the web sites.
Terrie has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Minnesota. She began designing websites in 1999 and uses her expertise in the field to keep MyHouseCleaningBiz.com and TheJanitorialStore.com websites up-to-date. She also edits the audio tracks of telephone interviews and teleclasses, works on articles, ebooks, graphic design and anything else she can to help Steve and Jean keep things running smoothly.
