"This website is excellent. I shouldn't say this but with the all the information on it I would have expected to pay a lot more for it. Highly recommended and an excellent job done."

"This is the best site that I've visited. I am so glad that you guys started this up. I mean you could search the internet for different topics and such; but you don't get everything in one place. The advice is always good. Thanks a bunch."
E. Ann Willis

"Jean and Steve - I am so happy that I found this website. Because of you all, I was able to sell my franchise and start my own cleaning business. I am so excited but at the same time nervous. I sold my franchise in August and start cleaning three new buildings in September. Steve and Jean you are truly a blessing. I am so free. There is not enough words to say how grateful I am that I found this site, you all are so helpful. May God continue to bless you."

All About Hard Floor Pads
Steve Hanson
Printer-Friendly Format

Why are there so many floor pads to choose from for performing floor care services? Each pad is designed to produce different results, depending on the procedure being performed and the type of floor finish the pad is being used on.

All floor pads are a blend of polyester and/or nylon fibers, which are bonded together with synthetic resin and then impregnated with abrasives. How agressive a pad is depends on the type of fibers and abrasives used to make it.

The open web construction of floor pads allows for greater soil removal and easy cleaning. Pads can be used on both sides and then cleaned under running water.

Conventional Pads are for use with slow speed machines of 175 to 800 RPM. Ultra High Speed Pads are for use with high speed machines of 1000 - 3000 RPM.

Manufacturers colorize pads, which makes it easy to choose the right pad for the job. The darker the pad, the more aggressive. For example, black pads are used for stripping floors and white pads are used for polishing floors. Manufacturer colors may vary.
