In 1970 the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was created for the purpose of protecting the health and safety of workers in the labor force. In addition, the General Duty Clause of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) states that each employer shall furnish to each of their employees a place of employment, which is to be free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees. The General Duty Clause also states that each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards, in addition to all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to OSH Act, which are applicable to their own conduct and actions. Hence...safety is the responsibility of ALL members of an organization. The Janitorial Employee Safety Program is OSHA Compliant, and it meets CIMS Certification Requirements.
